What to bring, what class to choose and what about existing injuries?
Yourself, clothes you can move in (shorts are best for physiotherapy appointments) your health fund card/medicare card, preferred payment method. You may wish to bring a towel and water bottle to our classes.
Most often confused with physiotherapy or personal training, exercise physiology is at its core the science of how the body responds to exercise,
particularly when injured or in the presence of diseases like cancer, diabetes or heart disease (just to name a few).
What an exercise physiologist does is help you to achieve your health, fitness and lifestyle goals with targeted exercise prescription.
Accredited Exercise Physiologists are required to complete a minimum 4 year university degree, and must complete continuing education every year
to ensure they are up to date with the latest exercise practices and protocols.
The SG in SG-Movit stands for “Small Group”. These classes provide fully individualised programming for each class participant, with a maximum of 4 people per class to allow for enough supervision and feedback from the supervising clinician, but enough space and freedom for you to exercise at your level.
These classes have been developed specifically to maximise your outcomes, maximising on other factors such as community and fun in addition to traditional therapeutic exercise prescription.
The best thing you can do for your injury is make an appointment to see one of our Physiotherapists.
Our Physiotherapists can take a look at your injury,
treat it, and point you in the direction of the best health and medical professionals in Newcastle if you need more specialised care.
After all, we can’t help you unless you come to see us.
We very intentionally made our session times generous. Our initial sessions (aka your very first session with us) is 60 minutes, and our subsequent sessions are 30 minutes.
Health fund rebates are as unique as the person who holds the card. Depending on which health fund you’re with, your level of cover, what you’ve previously claimed and even the time that you’ve spent with your health fund will impact the amount your health fund will cover.
No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment time. We do accept referrals from GP’s, Specialists and other Allied health professionals.
We do have the ability to process on the spot claims from your health fund. HICAPS, like Kleenex,
is a brand name that is often used to describe the ability to swipe your health fund card and only
pay the gap. We use Healthpoint, but it’s basically the same thing.
Yes. We have a cancellation policy. If you fail to notify us of your need to cancel before 4:30pm the business day before your appointment, we reserve the right to enforce the cancelation fee. Please refer to our full cancelation policy for further details (Click here). The Cancellation fee is between 50 and 100% of the consult fee depending on the service being delivered and if other parties are paying for the service (eg NDIS, Workers Compensation).
